Abstract

The process of vehicles number plates identifying key features using the optical character recognition (OCR) method.Many of the existing automatic number plate identification methods only perform in a controlled condition with images taken at a straight angle with clearness, fonts, and quality lighting.Based on the design of the characters, the automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) method recognizes fonts on the plate.In India, number plates are designed and written in several font styles. The ability to identify the characters on license plates is the region of interest (ROI).This model features a novel template database of English font styles that it may use to recognize and identify characters on license plates.To achieve identification in this system, the font styles Calibri, Times New Roman, and Kruti Dev are frequently employed.We tested the system using number plates with English characters and also evaluated the environment it would perform in. With the test data images, we discovered recognition and segmentation accuracy rates of 99 and 97 percent, respectively.
